Independent, strong, caring and each unique! Day 1...

One of our favorite activities is spending time with our grandkids, Cyrus and Samira from Boston and Emma, Lilah, Alexa and Clara from Houston. On Tues. we took the 4 Texas girls on a short 3 night trip to San Antonio. This is the first time we've had all 4 girls stay with us at one time.

It was a 4 hour drive. The older two took turns riding in the RV "co-pilot" seat and I took the other 3 in the car. Sadly most RV's aren't equipped safety-wise for kids, all seats may not have shoulder belts, some have side facing seats, and many don't have seats safe for child car seats. Ours falls in the "all of the above" category.

I had planned twice as many activities as we could handle so choices had to be made. Tuesday we arrived shortly after 2:00 and stayed around the campground. We went swimming and then the girls joined us for Tuesday night Zoom with Uncle Josh, Aunt Zia, Cyrus and Samira.

Alexa, in the middle, was the volleyball "net." It was a salt water pool, big and heated "just enough."

Pat's dutch oven cherry cobbler made Papa style, half without cherries for that one that didn't like cherries. Yes, they ALL ate the one with cherries, lol!

Wednesday was spent at SeaWorld. With only one day we skipped adding the adjoining Aquatica Water Park. The older two, Emma 16 and Lilah 14, were given the choice of hanging with us or going off together. Can you guess what they chose? Both had phones, met us for lunch, a show and checked in during our 7 1/2 hour day. The smaller rides had long lines. Emma and Lilah said their's didn't. High temperatures were near 70°. The pool was a must after we got back to the campground.

First stop, the sea lion show.

Our first ride.

Lunch in the car.

Alexa was looking for turtles, glad Seaworld didn't disappoint.

Only two of us got pretty wet, myself and Clara.

Clara photo bombed Alexa.

Alexa, Clara and Pat are in the back. I couldn't take my bag and the line to RENT a locker was long so I let them go on without me. At least an hour wait.

I think Emma and Lilah enjoyed going off together at their own pace. Downside? No pictures. These are some of the rides they might have gone on, lol.

Beluga Whales and Dolphins. Cotton candy for all.  Animal lover Alexa was anxious to see the Dolphins.

Did you know that Beluga Whales are born grayish and can take almost 8 years to become white?

Last ride of the day.  Thankful everyone was patient because it was an hour wait.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar is basically a gourmet burger and has two locations in San Antonio. It came highly recommended by Papa Ted (Toni's Dad). Pat and all of the girls really enjoyed it. I was coming down with a cold so my taste wasn't up to par. Also I don't care for burgers that aren't cooked throughly. Pink turns me off.

Brussel sprouts, as well as fries, could be topped with a variety of toppings. I think Pat topped their Brussel sprouts with the green chili queso and Lilah selected plain fries.

STAY TUNED TOMORROW FOR DAY TWO OF SAN ANTONIO!

Where are the Piepers now? Houston, TX
