Think we might be getting old!

Anyone know what this wildflower is?  They have been popping up in our park this week.

I'm full of questions tonight.  Who is the singer in the picture below?  He was featured in this 1995 Wildlife Concert that we watched in our last "Concert in the Park" tonight.  He died in 1997.  This was the first person I saw in concert thanks to my oldest brother John and my sister-in-law Theresa.  They took me to Blossom Music Center In Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in, I believe, 1974.  It was an outdoor theater, nothing like anything I had ever seen, and I was very impressed.  I remember sitting on the hill.

I actually remember what happened after the concert even better.  It was a big venue and as we were trying to leave and the traffic was terribly congested.  We were in the front of a line that was not moving and there was no hope of us exiting in the foreseeable future.  "Someone" in our car grabbed a flare, jumped out, and began directing traffic and got us out in no time!  Still makes me laugh.

Who is this?

Blossom Music Center

Zoom with Boston.  Love it when Samira reads to us.  She has such expression and enthusiasm.  Cyrus showed us some of his lego creations tonight too.  After a while he said we had admired his creations long enough and he was taking the computer back to the charging station, lol.

Last history stroll in our park.  March is women's history month.

We rolled instead of strolled today.

The last sign.

The final Monday night movie.

Not the best picture, but does anyone recognize the Movie?  Neither of us had seen it and I don't remember even having heard the title before.  It had everyone in stitches and was perfect for an RV crowd.

$7 worth of veggies from the vegie man on Mon.

Pat's hard at work waxing the pucks for optimum performance.  We have resorted to Wheel of Fortune and Shuffleboard.  When did we become old???

I have shown this before where someone planted a plastic flower in a pothole.

On my walk the other day it looked like it got the results  someone was after!

  1. You are correct John Denver was killed while flying an ultralight plane. His license was suspended at the time, although I don't know if it was required to fly the ultralight. The plane was homemade, but not built by him. According to one article, "The Long EZ, designed by Burt Rutan in the late 1970s, is built from a set of plans that can be purchased for a few hundred dollars. Denver's aircraft was built by Rutan Aircraft in Mojave, Calif., according to a woman who answered the telephone at the desert facility.Oct 14, 1997."

  2. His dad was also in the Airforce and set many speed records in planes during his time. Once, John ran off from Texas to California to be in a band instead of finishing high school and his dad borrowed a jet to fly out there to get him and bring him home.

  3. I did not know that Eric. You always have such a wealth of knowledge! I would guess that's where his airplane interest began.

  4. With the help of Google and Wickipedia I think the flower is: Oenothera speciosa is a species of evening primrose known by several common names, including pinkladies, pink evening primrose, showy evening primrose, Mexican primrose, amapola, and buttercups (not to be confused with true buttercups in the genus Ranunculus).

    1. Someone on Facebook also said primrose, so that appears to be the popular vote!

  7. Thanks! #71? We'll have to listen to more. Liked how he didn't fully reveal who it actually was until the end.
