Museum of Flight

We spent a day exploring The Museum of Flight while in Seattle.  It holds one of the largest air and space collections in the US.

We didn't begin to see everything.  We did tour the WWI and WWII rooms and an outdoor exhibit, among others.  Grandpa and Cyrus had quite a discussion on which plane was the fastest.

The Concorde was a favorite for Cyrus.

First Air Force One jet plane, known as SAM (Special Air Missions), delivered in 1959 for President Eisenhower.

Chinook

I was hoping to see a Martin B-26 Marauder like my Uncle Bill flew in WWII.  Did see a model.

The Lockheed SR-71A nose-cone, the fastest jet.  The kids enjoyed sitting in the cockpit.

Where are the Piepers now?  Glacier Peak Resort and Winery, Rockport, WA

  1. Looks like a good place to visit. When you get the chance in your travels compare with the Air Force Museum outside of Dayton, OH. Doesn't have the civilian aircraft but has everything military (including UFO's)

    1. Will do. We didn't have time to see more here. Pat said they had an outdoor B-52 area.
