You're only as old as you feel...

...or so they say. Is there something that has made you feel old? I have always fallen a lot, so a torn miscus or two, broken toes, not even a broken arm made me feel old. Gray hair? Naw, my Mom had white hair in her 30's. Kids turning 40, grandkids hitting certain milestones? Nope! Earlier this week I felt like I must be old though, signed up for medicare!

Notice my jacket. On Tues. temperatures started to fall. It was in the low 60's for highs and the low 40's Weds. and Thurs. night. By the weekend temperatures will be in the 70's again, which is normal. Next week we may even hit a couple of 80° days.

It was in the low 60's Weds. I told Pat no one had shorts on.  He said, "What do you mean?"

A bald eagle just across the pond in our park!

This pup looks cozy.

Shark! Shark!

I threw him back in and I'd like to think it made a difference to him, but Pat thought he wasn't alive.

Low 40's Weds night.

First time we've seen so many tide pools.

Not a port area so we don't see many boats or ships.

I can count on one hand the number of times we've watched TV outside. Actually, we just don't watch much TV period.

I have been looking forward to "Ticket to Paradise" with Clooney and Roberts. First day out (Friday) and Pat took me.  I enjoyed it, and stayed awake. Of course it started at 12:15 which helped. Definitely not packed, but more people there then we've seen recently.  The theater was in the Market Common, also called Uptown Downtown, of Myrtel Beach. We walked around after the movie.

Opening in 2008 Market Common is a 114 acre "lifestyle center". Besides the movie theater there are boutiques, a bowling alley, restaurants, a spa, and it hosts many events. There are 6 different living communities there with lofts and apartments above the shops and restaurants, and houses and townhouses surrounding. Lots of amenities including parks,a fitness center, pool, and lazy river. Market Common is on land that housed the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base that closed in 1993. It is considered one of the best military base redevelopments in the country.

I'm sure Pat noticed the sparkle in my eyes. I've always thought it would be fun to live in New York City overlooking Central Park. Pretty sure that won't happen! Market Common sure looked inviting and it's not terribly far from the beach. Sadly, not a lot of openings and probably pretty pricey.

Fake balconies...

... and functional ones.

Where are the Piepers now? Myrtle Beach, SC
