"The wayward wind is a restless wind, a restless wind that yearns to wander....

One more ✔ off the bucket list.

...and he was born the next of kin, the next of kin to the wayward wind."  ---Stanley Lebowsky/Herb Newman

It was first sung by Gogi Grant (died 2016 at 91) in 1956 and was a hit, kicking Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel off the top of the Billboard charts after having been #1 for 8 weeks. It remained #1 for 6 weeks.

Funny the things you remember, and then again, those you don't.  If my memory serves me correctly, and it probably doesn't, maybe in 6th grade?, 1969ish we walked? from St. Pat's to the Senior High-Rise on the south side of Ottumwa and sang this song for the residents.

Unlike the song, Pat and I aren't leaving one another for the wayward wind, at least not yet😉, but following it together. On Monday morning we started heading west.

This was so much fun!  Chris was our leader, and for some reason, they thought I needed to be in the middle.  Told Pat I needed one of these and he said I should have thought of that before I bought a bike.🤪

Breakfast on Sun. in the Czech Village.

Monday was a long travel day.  Thank you to Windcrest Winery, our Harvest Host for tonight. Todd is new to the winery business and was a great host.  We sampled a few wines and Pat selected "Cherry."  He described it as light and crisp.  Todd gave us a complimentary Windcrest wine glass.

As you can tell by the grass, their name is appropriate.

We sat on the porch and enjoyed the beautiful countryside.

Our site for the night.  One other trailer joined us later.

After a long day we picked up dinner from the Ding-A-Ling bar in Raymond.

In the next few weeks we are going to switch to a mobile view for phones and tablets that will hopefully be more pleasing to look at.  On a computer it will continue to look as it does now.  We have a couple of things we need to do before we make the change.
