We saw this blooming Indian Pink Plant today. It is found in the southeast. |
Stop 5: Atlanta. Thursday morning we went hiking at High Falls State Park just south of Atlanta. A beautiful park with cascading waters on the Towaliga River. The High Falls Trail was just under a mile long but with ups and downs. Seems strange that we have to hike in the morning due to heat.
We were thinking of heading into Atlanta to see some of it's highlights after our hike, but... There must have been an accident as Google said it would be an hour and 45 minute drive for the 51 miles to Centenial Olumpic Park. Near there is also CNN headquarters, the World of Coca-Cola Museum, underground Atlanta, and more. We have been to several attractions in Atlanta and decided to skip the long drive today. Years ago I remember tasting coke products at the museum that they make around the world. Some taste a lot different than what is sold in the U.S. Wonder if you still get to do that?

Stone Mountain in 1994. They had a laser light show on the mountain. There is considerable controversy now over the Confederate carving on the mountain face that was completed in 1972. |
