Headed south to warmer? weather

Just realized we haven't been updating our location--oops!

Well, we got to Wakarusa late Weds. afternoon and Thor got our RV into the repair bay bright and early Weds. morning.  They found the problem with the slide, ordered the part that they said was bad, and are replacing it, hip hip hooray!!  Most of Wednesday was spent on errands in Goshen.  Liemon wasn't ready to come back to us Weds. afternoon, but he will be ready Thursday morning.

Due to Covid we still can't spend the night in Liemon, so we are staying at a hotel in Goshen, IN and Liemon is in a nice warm bay at Thor.  From the yelling at midnight Dallas and Heather were engaged, but they should maybe rethink that! We didn't sleep very well and, as usual, Krikkit gets disoriented in a strange place. It's a little chilly here.  The low tonight is around 40°, which is about 10° warmer than last night and tomorrow night.  Found out we are in the middle of a very bad Covid outbreak here in Elkhart County.  I think we were pretty careful as usual.

Our coach was finished shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday.  We left Thor in the afternoon and drove the 45 minutes to  Comfort Design by Lambright Chairs in Topeka, IN, https://lambrightcomfortchairllc.com/.  It was COLD Thursday night.  Lambright had our RV in by 8 a.m. Friday and our theater seating was installed in half an hour at most.  Love this place!  Excellent Amish quality, service and staff.  The owner, Vernon, is fantastic.  We highly recommend it.  As well as RV furniture they make household furniture.  We were on the road by 9:30 a.m. headed south, mostly.  No chance of much warmer weather tonight though!  Last time we went by Indianapolis, this past March, we had snow.  Today it was just cold, but we did have sun.  Last fall when we left Boston and headed south we just couldn't get ahead of the cold weather.  Seems to be following suit this year.

I have been waiting all day to try the recliner!  We knew it would be snug walking through with our new couch with the slide in, but it's very doable.  Definitely can't put the footrests out, which we knew.  With the slide out you could squeeze through if the person across from the dinette, Pat, wouldn't lower their foot rest a little.

Ligonier, Indiana is known as "the town of murals."  There are over 2 dozen murals in the downtown area, each portraying something of the town's past.  We drove past this one this morning.  Ligonier also has an 1800 former Jewish temple and the only Perfumery in the U.S.

Friday night is brought to you by Cracker Barrel in Mt. Vernon, IL.  Your hospitality and dinner is appreciated! Pat had Sunday Chicken with okra and broccoli.  I had meatloaf, fried apples and dumplings.  We both have enough left for lunch tomorrow.

  1. The new seating looks nice and Pat seems to have settled in. Where is the warm destination where you are headed?

    1. It is warmer here in West Memphis, AR today but it gets colder tomorrow night. The cold front is too big and we can't get ahead of it. The same last year. The further south we went the colder it got. Tomorrow we head west.

    2. It was pretty nice here today with sun and a high near 60. Tomorrow is colder but then up near 70 most of next week, at least that is the forecast. I'm hoping to get in a couple more hiking days.

  2. It is really nice to have something comfortable. I sat at the dinette most of the time and it was just so-so.

  3. We used Lambright for our recliners and love them. We’ve also stayed at Tom Sawyer. They have free laundry.

    1. I forgot you had gotten recliners or I would have checked with you! I really love them so far, sooo comfortable! I didn't know about the free laundry. It's been a while since we've had full hook-ups so we got our moneys worth for the loads I did today that's for sure.
