Parasail: ✔️

Parasailing is checked off my bucket list.  It was so much fun!  Thanks Pat for coming along for the ride.  They had a report of dolphins nearby so we got an additional boat ride and view of a dolphin.

Monday is our big trip to Dry Tortugas.  I found out we miraculously obtained very-hard-to-get tickets for the Ferry Ride.  Someone must have canceled just before we checked because, otherwise, they are booked for weeks.  As my Mom use to say, "we must be living right", maybe (she didn't include the maybe).

We will be up at 4 and on the road by 4:30.  We have to be at Key West at 7 to check in for the 8:00 ferry, which takes about 2 hours to get to Dry Tortugas.  There is a Fort, swimming, snorkeling, no portable water, and "unreal" potties (chemical variety).  Our ferry returns to Key West at 5:30.  A long day for us.

We have carried around our snorkeling gear for 3 years and the first, and last, time we used them was on our Carribean sailing adventure 9 or 10 years ago.  Thought we should see if they were even in condition to take.  Well, obviously we hadn't looked at them since we were in the Carribean because they still had sand in them!  Note to self:  clean them before we pack them up.

We cleaned them and proceeded to inspect them.  Appeared OK so we tried on our masks.  I wouldn't say I don't like snorkeling,  because I do.  Obviously the gear was important enough to carry around in my small space.  I put on the mask and am ripping it off, like every other time, because as any one who snorkel knows, you can't breathe through your nose.  Panic time for me which will happen tomorrow, especially after I add the snorkel.  I snorkel in spurts.  Of course I don't have prescription goggles so if I'm more than 2 or 3' away I don't see a whole lot anyway.  But I figure I try!

Where are the Piepers now?  Key Largo

  1. Parasailing is something I would do again. When I went it was tandem front and back, not side to side, with Jason. You definitely look like you are having fun, not sure about Pat.

    1. I'm glad I did it but honestly I'm not sure I'd spend that much again for a 10 minute ride. I do still want to go on a hot balloon ride.

  2. I agree about the price thing. And, I would like to go on a hot air balloon ride. We'll be in Albuquerque (hot air ballooning capital of the world) as part of our June trip and it sounds like you can take rides but I'm sure the price is high.
