Family dinner night

Our third dinner with the Boston crew, 5 p.m. CDT and 6 p.m. EDT via zoom.  We heard about everyone's day and then the important topic--jokes.  Jokes as told by 4 and 6 year olds!  What a fun time!

Zoom dinner
The interesting part this week was we prepared the same meal.  We both had chili and cornbread.  Total coincidence!  Pat made our cornbread in the cast iron skillet on the grill.  It was pretty thick as I used 2 boxes of Jiffy Cornbread mix, but it was cooked perfectly from the top down to the bottom.  Josh made his from scratch, also in a cast iron skillet.  We don't eat it often enough to keep a container of cornmeal around.  We finished eating around 5:50.

Just in time too.  We had just started to clean up and the tornado siren went off.  We grabbed Krikkit and headed to the laundry/shower house.  She managed to walk at an acceptable pace.  The building was cinder block and looked sturdy, at least compared to an RV.  The wind picked up and it rained but nothing bad.  The tornado warning ended at 6:30 and this time Krikkit got carried because the rain was coming down pretty good.  The storms are suppose to be out of the area by 11 p.m.

  1. That sounds like fun. Our 5 month old granddaughter has already figured out video chats and turns on the smile. No jokes yet though.

  2. We really enjoy the family "dinners." The Texas girls have messenger for kids on their tablets so after they finish schoolwork we get messages from them. several times a week.
