The Journey begins, part 12

Smokey Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places to visit.  When the boys were little we always had fun here.  On Oct. 31, Halloween, we checked into an the RV park Rippling Waters in Sieverville, TN.  It was raining, but we made it to the park, unlike Shenandoah.  We stopped at Sugar Lands Visitor's Center and took a short trail to Cataract Falls.  We took a driving tour, Roaring Fork, Motor Nature Trail and saw the devastating affects of a 2016 forest fire.

Cataract Falls

Damage from a 2016 wildfire burning 17,900 acres. It was started by 2 teenagers droppping matches, and was one of the largest national disasters in the history of Tennessee.

November 2 we were off to Slidel, LA. for another night at a Cracker Barrell.  I was sad that we couldn't get to Houston in time for Lilah's revised birthday party, but we would arrive prior to her actual birthday on Nov. 8

November 3rd we stayed at Twelve Oaks RV Park at Lake Charles, LA.  We were getting tired of traveling every day, and more than happy to be at an actual RV park with hook-ups where we could take a "real" shower.

Next:  part 13, we made it, Galveston Texas
